8th - 10th June 2018

Living Springs Conference Centre

This year we're beyond stoked to have three local ninjas joining us as the key speakers. They are Brian Krum (Baptist Youth ministry NZ), Chris Jupp (World Vision NZ) & Mike Dodge (CYS)

BRIAN KRUM

Brian is currently the National Team Leader of Baptist Youth Ministries in New Zealand. He is a speaker, pastor, trainer, teacher, church planter and missional innovator. Brian champions both God’s purposes and his people with contagious humour and passion that always points to Jesus.

Brian is at his best when he is joining God in the lives of not-yet-followers of Christ, and walking alongside others as they discern and join God in what he has asked them to be and do.

CHRIS JUPP

Chris is a proud Porirua lad who loves his family, fishing and heavy bass lines. He grew up far from Christ, until getting engaged with social justice issues that eventually lead him to the foot of the cross. He lives with his flat mate and cat mate, both from the streets, and has worked for World Vision NZ for the last seven years. In that time he has observed community transformation in Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi and Bougainville, experiencing the immense blessing of what it is to walk with the ‘poor’ and seeing the hope of the Word in action. He’s currently leading WVNZs young adults engagement across Aotearoa, a programme that seeks to open powerful conversations anchored in a commitment to seeing our most vulnerable thrive, contribute to humanitarian based leadership formation and provide practical guidance for those wishing to use their privilege, gifts and lives to light up the darkest corners of our world and society. He absolutely believes the world needs urgent change and that every one of us has an exciting role to play.

MIKE DODGE

Mike has been involved with youth work forever! He leads the team hear at CYS and spends his time coaching and cheerleading leaders all over Aotearoa to do their roles well. You will usually find Mike either fishing at the Waimak, drinking one of his many daily coffees or laughing (very loudly) at one of his own seemingly funny stories...

We are stoked to have him officially share some of his experience and wisdom with us at Southern Youth Leaders this year!
